Inspirational Story

The beauty of the program is that it is a real story of a real man. A powerful redemtion story about a man who turned to Christ from a past full of worldly pursuits and successes.

The Program

The Program/Fireside, “A Disciples Quest”, is written, produced and performed by brother Jed K. LeFevre. The fireside is based on and teaches principles and doctrines taught by The church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. “A Disciples Quest” chronicles Jed’s arduous trek, to Come unto Christ while ultimately striving to become like Christ, thus “The Quest”. Brother LeFevre’s Book of Mormon hero is Alma the Younger. Like Alma, yet less dramatic, he experienced an awakening, that he had become … “an enemy to God” (Mosiah 3:19).

The Music

The music part of the program is comprised of original music composed, arranged and played by Jed. Jed’s music is truly authentic and sets itself apart from much of the other faith-based music composed today. There is also a short set of appropriate 1960’s and 70’s Rockn’ Roll music. Jed believes this beloved music sets a unique atmosphere. One song can bring back a thousand memories. Everyone sings along for a different reason, because each person has a different memory.

The Magic

A personal relationship and connection is developed with Jed that allows each person to walk the path he walked. As Jed tells his story of changing from following the natural man to following and striving to become like Jesus Christ, they can feel the spirit in abundance. Each participant experiences the changes Jed experienced. If Jed could change, maybe I can change! The spirit testifies to them that they can! Fireside participants leave the program believing they have just listened to and participated with someone who understands them.

The Audience

Few things in life are truely one-size fits all! Because Jed understands this, he has developed multiple variations of the fireside in order to best meet the needs of listeners. These variations fall within four categories tailored to the needs and challenges of the group they are meant to address: youth; adults; recovering addicts; and investigators, recent converts, or less active members.

Youth

True peace comes from a personal understanding of the atonement of Jesus Christ. The social environment in which youth are growing up has undergone a significant moral decline. Today’s youth are strengthened and thrive when they feel the promptings of the Holy Ghost testify of the divinity of the Savior.

Missionary

President Benson stated: “ Missionary work is work…if the missionary works, he will get the spirit and touch the hearts of the people.” Jed strives to present an opportunity for the spirit to touch each heart.
Composing a song is a lot like recognizing and listening to the Holy Ghost. It really helps to be in tune.
~ Jed K. LeFevre

We face a unique variety of temptations and challenges in the latter days, and many lie in wait with just a touch of a button.

Addiction Recovery

Everyone needs to become converted, and experience “a mighty change of heart”. Elder Oaks has taught: “conversion is often achieved more readily by suffering and adversity than by comfort and tranquility.” Peace comes from the atonement of Jesus Christ and by striving to become like Him.

A Note About Size

Jed has presented the fireside to as few as 25 participants. There is no limit as to the number the program is appropriate for.

Adult

The front line defense in combating evil, is home and family. However, both are under serious attack. Jed believes, the best way to show gratitude for his blessings, is by strengthening others particularly home and family. Jesus Christ taught: “when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

Single Adult

Single adults are an important part of Jed’s music ministry. He became a single father of two at age 37. Jed understands single adult’s varied interests and circumstances and seeks to address those needs.
Sometimes it’s not the song that makes you emotional…it’s the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.
