A Disciple’s Quest
A Ministry for Spiritually Strengthening Adults, Individuals & Families
“A Disciples Quest”, offers an opportunity for individuals and couples to be spiritually refreshed and uplifted.
Anything but Conventional
Adult firesides are not a common practice in the branches, wards and stakes of the LDS church. Jed’s fireside, “A Disciples Quest,” proposes to change that reality. Adults need wholesome righteous entertainment and support. The fireside offers Couples or individuals an evening of music, laughter, entertainment and spiritual up-lifting.
Helaman's Shout
And why for the sheep should we earnestly long
And as earnestly hope and pray?
Because there is danger, if they go wrong,
They will lead the young lambs astray.
…
And so with the sheep we earnestly plead
For the sake of the lambs today.
If the lambs are lost, what a terrible cost
Some sheep will have to pay!
What to Expect
The parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15: 2-7) describes a “Sheep” that is missing and lost. An adult sheep not a lamb! This powerful parable stresses the importance of finding, saving and supporting “ the sheep”. We intuitively know that children, young men and women must be spiritually strengthened. However, perhaps more importantly is that adults, parents and individuals be spiritually strengthened. They are the teachers, examples and mentors of youth.
“A Disciples Quest” will up-lift and spiritually strengthen, while encouraging participants to follow Jesus Christ, ultimately striving to become like Him.
Age and Audience
An evening of uplifting entertainment for adults of all ages, backgrounds, and familiy circumstances. A memorable spiritual experience that will leave parents, leaders, and mentors wanting to be better examples.
Preparing for the fireside
Jed encourages those who host the fireside to plan and serve a “light dinner”. While not a requirement, the dinner will provide an atmosphere to socialize and minister one to another in preparation for the fireside.
